September 2025: Happy first day of the term, to all who celebrate! 🧑🏾‍🏫📖This term, I’m teaching the Umoja Academic Residential Community Seminar (pt. 1), Intro to Black Studies, and Genealogies of Ethnic Studies. February 2025: I am so grateful to my friends and colleagues who gave me such great feedback on my recent work-in-progress talk! Thank you for your generous, thoughtful engagement with my work! Special thanks to @lanalopesi_ for the photo! December 2024: I won an Oregon Humanities Center Ernest G. Moll Faculty Research Fellowship in Literary Studies! 🥳 Thanks so much, OHC review panel! December 2024: Fall quarter was a lot more manageable this time around! I taught “Intro to Black Studies” and “Black Health and (Social) Healing.” I applied for fellowships and worked on my writing. I’m grateful and honored that this is my job. 🧑🏾‍🏫 August 2024: I received the Society for Literature, Science, & the Arts’s Schachterle Prize for 2024! This award recognizes the best new essay written on literature and science by a nontenured scholar. Thanks so much SLSA and thank you to the judges Blake Leland and Jennifer Tuttle!
